A special women’s day celebration day at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Preston was themed around ‘the strength within’.
A series of workshops and seminars to invigorate the mind, body and soul took place to enable women to harness their resolve, which was supported by thought provoking seminars to convey practical lessons in overcoming everyday obstacles in achieving one’s true potential.
Special guest, the Mayor of Preston, Cllr Veronica Affrin was invited alongside Cllr Linda Crompton and Mrs Charu Ainscough OBE.
Refreshments was provided throughout the day as well as a sumptuous vegetarian meal for all guests.
The aim was to explore the importance of faith, presented through a variety of mediums.
The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) is an international community-based spiritual organisation affiliated to the United Nations.
It has more than 3,300 centres, 55,000 volunteers, and one million members around the world.
