Director Rajkumar Santoshi and Ajay Devgan are back together after Khakee', The Legend of Bhagat Singh' and Lajja'.
This is a vivid and exuberant rags-to-riches story of a fictional Bollywood star (played by the always excellent Ajay Devgan), a story of hubris and loss of soul and final redemption.
Although the film is fictional, the pivotal crime at the heart of the film is thinly based on the infamous Jessica Lal murder case.
And for those of you wondering, Jessica Lal was a model who was shot dead at a crowded socialite party - she is on Youtube (go on sexii dancing'!).
The murderer was alleged to be the son of a wealthy and powerful Congress politician who was later found not guilty.
And there in a nutshell you have all the ingredients: politics, corruption, glamour, scandal, nepotism, bribery and all manner of other savoury delights.
