This is the directorial debut from Amir Khan and a pretty good one it is, too.
Having said that, I did find the film's saccharine sweet, over-the -top sentimentality a bit too gushy and a bit too wholesome.
Nevertheless, the film is brilliantly acted by Amir Khan - who plays good' and bad' characters pretty well but playing ugly comes naturally to him! - and new discovery Darsheel Safary, playing a dyslexic child and giving such an unbelievably natural performance that it puts many Bollywood stars to shame.
