India's A-list actors received a near-hysterical reception from fans at the London premiere of Chandni Chowk to China.
Warner Brothers hope to introduce the Bollywood kung-fu action comedy to a more mainstream audience which, judging from the reception its stars received in the capital, will not be a problem.
Fans packed out Leicester Square, with grown men crying and screaming as they got to shake hands with Bollywood king Akshay Kumar.
"I just heard them say there has never been this kind of premiere on a mainstream level in London," the actor revealed.
"In the UK these guys are so nice, it's great here."
Akshay added that he'd signed up to star in the movie as soon as he heard they'd be shooting at the Great Wall of China.
"This is the first film in my life that I signed to without knowing the script. It just excited me. I went with my instinct," he said.
Dressed like a princess in a beaded pink ballgown, Indian supermodel-turned-actress Deepika Padukone got an equally warm reception from the crowds.
"I always wanted to do an action film and with this I managed to bag that," the actress explained. "It was challenging but at the same time I trained a lot for about six months and I think it was worth it."
