Toronto high school student Simon (Devon Bostick) is still haunted by the death of his parents in a car accident many years ago and the young man struggles to understand why the universe chose to take them from him.

During a French class, Simon becomes fascinated with a translation exercise of a news story about a pregnant traveller bound for Israel, who was arrested at the airport with a bomb in her luggage, planted there by her boyfriend.

Strangely drawn to the case, Simon sets up a website about the planned disaster and the subsequent debate has serious ramifications for the troubled teenager.
