Game will go ahead

Saturday's Indian Premier League match between Dimitri Mascarenhas' Rajasthan Royals and Bangalore Royal Challengers will go ahead as planned despite this week's bomb blasts in Jaipur, tournament chairman Lalit Modi has confirmed.

Several Rajasthan players are considering going home after a string of explosions tore through busy markets and the old town of Jaipur on Tuesday, leaving more than 80 people dead and hundreds more injured.

Saturday's encounter will take place as scheduled, however, with Modi telling television channel NDTV: "The players were concerned. But we had a talk and things have been sorted out now.

"However, as a mark of respect we will not have any music, cheerleaders and other such entertainment packages on the day."

Hampshire captain Mascarenhas, who has played 10 one-day internationals, last month became the first England player to join the IPL.
