Racisim pervades today's society and the colour of skin is the most obvious differentiator among people. But educated people must learn to be educated and should understand that it is not the colour of the skin that makes people, but the real people inside. The show is a reflection of soceity and the hazzles that asians have to undergo daily in London and other parts of United Kingdom. The only difference this time is that thousands of people are silently suffering daily racist abuses without any support. Due to the popularity of the program the racisim that people suffer daily has brought into public light. Britain needs to educate its citizens and start a crusade against racism.

All this talk of racism is stirring up a hornet's nest and is totally unncessary. the facts are: 1. the 3 girls ARE bullying shilpa and 2. she is not helping matters by frustrating them with stupid antics and 3. there has been no real racism, but everything the girls have said has been twisted to make it look so - the only direct insult was from Jade's now departed mother Jackiey, who kept referring to her as the Indian, but that appeared to be because she was mentally deficient The words 'dog" '****' and the c word are vile insults to anyone, but not racist. Let's face it if they had been directed towards a white inmate they would have just been seen as bullying, nothing else. And here's the crux of the matter- Shilpa herself has not once complained to Big Brother that they are being racist, only that they dont like her, which proves the point . Shilpa: For a start, refusing to eat a chicken she under-cooked (for only 45 mins, for goodness sake!) was not racist, it was sensible. And likewise to objecting to have her fingering their food - I wouldn't like it and they didn't, and Daniele asking if that's how they eat their food in India or China was borne of ignorance, not racism Throwing chicken soup, complete with bones, down the toilet and blocking it, was also stupid and, quite rightly, they had a go at her for that. For such a cultured woman, Shilpa has shown a remarkable lack of sense, and I put that down to her lifestyle - she has people waiting on her hand and foot, which begs the question: why is she cooking at all? just to score points? or to deliberately stir up this animosity towards her? if so, she's putting on an Oscar-winning performance, what with her penchant for weeping on the shoulders of the male inmates. if she was that upset she would have walked days ago - instead she is building her act to a grand finale. I can't stand Germaine Greer, but she's done this piece in the Guardian which I agree with - Shilpa is a most annoyng, infuriating person who can cry at the drop of a hat - which is perfectly natural given that she is an actress. I have to say that I have been annoyed to see Jo, Dan and Jade bully this woman, but Shilpa has gone right down in my estimation and I think the tide is turning against her now and, far from being perceived as the victim, she may soon become a more hated figure than any of them - apart from with those who have jumped on the racism bandwagon. Come eviction night it will be interesting to see who gets the boot

Action should be taken to prevent this sort of behaviour. Please, this isn't racism at all. Jade/Jo/Danielle do seem to be picking on her, yes, but racism is not a factor. AT ALL!! Why must people jump to stupid conclusions? If victims are of a different race to thier attackers - it becomes a race issue! The word "racism" is too easily thrown around. All you narrow minded people out there who jump on the racism band wagon are actually adding to it. So Narinder, because of these 3 people expressing their dislike towards an Indian woman (not because she is Indian!!) you think most Indians, including those outside Britain, will have very bad feeling towards British people? This is quite typical of some people. They think that racism is only when you get called a 'Paki' or when you beaten up and nothing else counts. Narinder is right. Shilpa is being bullied because she is an Indian...simple. Get that through your heads. We British just don't like it when things like this happen because it embarasses us!

Give me a break guys. Every reality show is scripted and even rehearsed, with multiple takes and camera angles. In America you know this and watch it as you would watch Wrestling matches. You know it is all fake, but you watch for the entertainment. The writers of the show have done an excellent job in creating this fake racism stunt to pull in ratings. For everyone who is upset over this, please go visit a tv or movie set and watch for one day how camera's and mikes are positioned and you'll understand why every 1 minute of of what you see on a reality show takes 15 minutes to shoot. Why are some people trying to defend racist behaviour? Paul is right this could be just a big whind up. But these days no-one wants to admit that in Britain there are racist people. Jade and her friends are being nasty and racist at the time. I’m not saying everyone in Britian is like Jade but there are people who are like that in every town and city in the country.

Have you ever heard of "jumping on the bandwagon?" We are just making it more of an issue than it needs to be, therefore causing unnecessary hatred. This is very odd -- none of the coverage identifies what the racism actually was. Apparently it's racism because this woman got her feelings hurt. It's a very child-like mentality -- to demand that the "authority" fix things when you're frustrated.

I wouldn't call it racism, i would call it ignorant, childish and spiteful behaviour and a poor reflection on the people of the UK that these people are in the public domain.

You really learn a lot about the people around you, when discussing this. The entire bullying is disgraceful. Those of you who can not see that their is an element of racism in there, need to look up and research racism. Ignorance is does exsit and can be offensive and racist. I think BB should take all four and make them choose two of them to go up for eviction. Let's see how they handle that. There is no excuse for bullying or racism.

I agree with Helen.... The reason she is not being treated very nicely is because she is not very nice.... its NOT because of her race and to constantly shout racism just causes resentments !! Are we all forgetting just how badly Jade was treated the first time she was in BB.... She ended up nacked thanks to her wonderful house mates.
