Bradford Mela highlights
The Bradford Mela is to kick-off this year's summer of melas.
This year it will take place on the weekend of June 14 and 15 at Peel Park.
The free family-friendly event is now in its 20th year celebrating global music, dance and culture.
It offers music and dance over six stages, as well as strolling players roaming the park.
On Saturday, June 21, the Lord Mayor's Parade will take to the streets of Bradford city centre.
It will be an extravaganza of colour and music with creative costumes and thousands of children taking to the streets.
The following day there will be a traditional Elizabethan Midsummer Celebration at Bolling Hall with street theatre and music from the past and traditional Elizabethan fare such as hog roast.
On Saturday and Sunday, June 28 and 29, Centenary Square will have a number of events and activities to celebrate Veterans Weekend.
Meanwhile later in the year, from August 14 to 17, Centenary Square will be transformed into a temporary city centre garden as part of Garden Magic for four days.
Councillor Anne Hawkesworth, Bradford Council's executive member for environment and culture, said: "There are lots of events on throughout the district this summer and these are just a taste of what is to come.
"We work very hard to produce a number of different events to cater for as many tastes as we can and this year is no exception.
"We hope lots of people come along to the events and enjoy the fun atmosphere in the city and district."
