Novelist coming to Manchester for free event
Journalist, broadcaster and novelist Sarfraz Manzoor is coming to Manchester to read excerpts from his memoir Greetings From Bury Park: Race, Religion and Rock & Roll.
Manzoor, who went to university in the city, will be at the Central Library on February 7 to share his tale about growing up with a Bruce Springsteen obsession in a Muslim family.
Councillor Mike Kane, Manchester City Council's Executive Member of Arts and Leisure, said: "We are delighted to be hosting this free event, which is open to everyone.
"The talk is one of many exciting events we will see during the 2008 Literature @ Manchester Central Library programme."
Sarfraz will be taking centre stage from 7pm in the Committee Room on the second floor of the library.
