Ethical Entertainment are ready for their debut charity event on Friday 02 November despite being told by the Albert Halls two weeks before the event that they could not hold the event there anymore.
The ladies-only event, Bollywood Night, involves a variety of entertainment and a three-course meal and is in support of Fortalice, Bolton's only domestic violence refuge.
The venue was originally booked in August at the Albert Halls in Bolton; however, two weeks before the event the organisers were told that they could not hold the event at the Albert Halls because a rock concert had also been booked on that night.
Co-organiser Fatima Patel, was present at the meeting when they were told about this blunder: "We were distraught at this news: This is the first event that we have organised together and we expected all sorts of problems, but not this.
"We thought that all the high-quality venues would already be booked or that we wouldn't be able to afford them.
"Over 30 people have volunteered their help and we've sold a lot of tickets, we didn't want to let everybody down".
Fortunately the Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa heard about the plight of the Ethical Entertainment team and offered them their prestigious Pennine Suite at a significantly reduced rate.
Jerry McGee, Hotel Manager said, "We were very sorry to hear about the situation these ladies found themselves in. We were told that all the profits of the event would be going to a worthy charity so we offered them our best possible rate".
Tayyebah Jiva, another organiser, added "We are so grateful to the Last Drop Village for their support - actually, we're now glad that the Albert Halls booked the rock concert because the Last Drop Village is stunning and with the help they are offering us it will be a higher quality event!
"We're confident that all of the attendees will be very impressed. We have arranged a free bus from the Town Hall at 7pm (returning at 10.45pm) and hope that the attendees aren't greatly inconvenienced by the change of venue".
Monica Ballani, Entertainments Coordinator comments, "After our crisis, we're now back on track. The entertainment is booked and we're having final rehearsals. We can't wait, so many people are excited about this event; we're really enjoying organising it."
Bollywood Night is on Friday 2nd Nov 2007 at The Last Drop Village, Hospital Road, Bromley Cross, BL1 9PZ.
Tickets for the event are £20 and available from Fitness First, Bradshawgate, Bolton; The Laser and Cosmetic Centre, St. Andrew's Court, Bolton; The Smile Clinic, Marsden Road, Bolton; Desi Tunes, Derby Street, Bolton and Poshak, Blackburn.
Free buses will be running from the Town Hall to the Last Drop Village at 7pm (returning at 10.45pm).
To book a place on the bus or for further enquiries call 07988 640360 or email ethical_entertainment@yahoo.co.uk.
