FUNDRAISING fighters are entering the ring for a charity White Collar Boxing event.

Some of the dozen bouts at Brawl In The Hall on Friday evening feature people who never fought before.

The event, at Bolton Excellency Centre in Carlton Street in Bolton town centre, will generate money for Help For Homeless UK while some of the competitors are raising money for their own individual causes as well.

Brawl In The Hall builds on the success of a similar but all-male fight event put on by the promoters called King Of The Ring that was held at the same venue on Boxing Day.

Organiser Imran Khan said: "It will be night not to be missed. It's going to be full of entertainment and full of surprises.

"Some of the fighters are complete beginners and we have been training some of them up."

One of them is Jemma Hough, a saleswoman from Astley Bridge.

The 30-year-old said: "I just signed up. I didn't know what I letting myself in for!

"I've been training six days a week and I've picked it up quite quickly - quicker than I thought I would do.

"I'm up for it and can't wait for my match."

She is raising funds for Tiny Lives baby charity as her eldest child Ella, now 12, was born premature.

Her opponent is personal trainer Nazeera Atcha, who is earning donations to help Bolton's homeless.

She said: "I am a photographer and I took pictures at King Of The Ring in December.

"I thought: where are all the females? So I said, at the next one you do, I want to fight.

"I love boxing and it's challenging."

Each of the match-ups last for three two-minute rounds and the fighters have been training hard for up to eight weeks at various gyms across the town.

Promoter Mr Khan said: "We have turned it into a bit of a Champions League.

"There's going to be seven genuine belts up for grabs and the person who wins the belt will have to defend it at a later date.

"It makes it even more interesting."

The full card includes: Reece Khan vs Hakeem Khan; Waris Khan vs Baghdadi Khan; Nafees Akhter vs Jordon Holden; Talha Sheikh vs Shavrais Hussain; Jemma Hough vs Nazeera Atcha; Kadier Khan vs Andrew Duffy; 7.
