CHANNEL 4 is expected to show the fundraising exploits of motorcyclists during a pit-stop in High Wycombe.

Deen Riders dropped into the Castlefield Mosque on their Harley-Davidson bikes as part of their three stop tour to raise money for people caught up in war-torn Syria.

Generous Wycombe residents handed over more than £3,000 during the visit organised by Cllr Mahboob Hussain - which was filmed as part of Channel 4’s focus on the holy month of Ramadan.

Cllr Hussain said: “I organised the visit for Ramadan as people are more generous during a fast as it makes you reflect and think about those less fortunate than you.

“I made a short speech and invited donations and I was extremely happy with the generosity of people - from 20p from a small child to larger donations, we raised more than £3,000.

“The Deen Riders spoke very well; they said all the right things about being a good Muslim and a good citizen, so I was very pleased.

“We’ve never done anything like this before with the use of bikes and it really captured the imagination, particularly of the young people, and it’s good to send out a positive message from High Wycombe.”

The short film is expected to be screened at 7.55pm tonight.
