Kasam

If you ever want to make people believe in you a little bit more then say it loud and say it proud - say Kasam.

Kasam (I swear) can mean so many things. It can mean that you are telling the truth more than the next person. It can make the other person take you a little seriously. It can be the one word between a full lie and a minor one.

There was a time in my life when I used kasam for everything.

"I got this new jacket for twenty pounds"... "Kasam?"... "Damn right".

"Kasam I will give you the money back..."... Sure you will'...' I said Kasam didn't I! What else do you want?'.

"If you don't say Kasam then I won't believe you."... Okay kasam I will buy you an eighth next time'.

Kasam Quran de, Allah De Kasam, Manh (mum) De Kasam, Baap (dad) De Kasam, Dada (grandad) ke Kasam and so on and so forth.

The real beauty of the word Kasam was how it could be used in so many different languages.

"Kasam, I'll tell your ammanh (mummy) everything!".

Also it was wonderful how people could pop a kasam into a conversation without it having any relevance whatsoever.

Kasam became Kasmay and it got so rediculous I began and ended sentences with Kasam. Sometimes I had forgotten I had uttered a kasam and the kasam would come back to haunt me.

Once I said kasam I would marry this girl and we never did. But the kasam got me what I wanted at the time so I didn't give a *hit. I set the world record for the most kasams in one day - 742 - 700 of them via text.

Another time the kasam saved me from one hell of a beating. Morning, noon and night they called me the kasam machine because I was knocking them out in greater and greater numbers.

But after so many years of using the word Kasam I have become sick of it. In fact I hate it so much I feel like slapping the next person who uses it.

I hate the word because kasam has lost all meaning.

"Ha hah..but you said Kasam..." used to scare the pants of me. Recently the answer is... "Yeah so what."

When I was in full flow it actually meant something. Now, when you hear someone using it he or she is simply trying to hide the fact that they are lieing.

Kasam has also become a question in it's own right.

This horrible retarded word isn't worth the paper it is written on.

I do long for the days when I will be able to use a kasam and be proud but I doubt that time will ever return.
