Police say they are working with the community to ensure everyone has a safe and peaceful Eid in Manchester.
Thousands of people are preparing to visit the Rusholme area to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
Greater Manchester Police has been working closely with the Manchester Muslim community, the Rusholme Traders Association, the Council of Mosques and Manchester City Council to ensure this year's celebration is safe and trouble-free.
"We want to wish everyone attending 'Eid Mubarak' and urge those who will be celebrating the festivities to do so responsibly and safely. My message to all those young people intending to come to Rusholme is to come to enjoy yourselves in a peaceful manner in the true spirit of Eid."
Chief Inspector Neil BholeA police operation will run throughout the festivities and officers will be providing a visible presence on Wilmslow Road and the surrounding areas, responding to any incidents of crime, anti-social behaviour and public disorder.
Residents or traders with any particular concerns about traffic management with high volumes of cars expected should contact Manchester City Council.
Chief Inspector Neil Bhole said: "Eid is an important date in the Muslim calendar and we are extremely proud that Rusholme is a focal point for Muslim communities throughout the UK.
"This festival traditionally attracts a large amount of visitors to Manchester and they will be given a warm welcome.
"We want to wish everyone attending 'Eid Mubarak' and urge those who will be celebrating the festivities to do so responsibly and safely.
"My message to all those young people intending to come to Rusholme is to come to enjoy yourselves in a peaceful manner in the true spirit of Eid. If anyone is intent on causing problems for the local community, then please stay away.
"Our role will be to provide a visible presence and ensure everyone can enjoy the celebrations safely and that any incidents of crime or anti-social behaviour are dealt with swiftly so that there is minimal disruption to the community."
The restaurants of Rusholme's famous 'Curry Mile' will remain open during Eid. Car parks are located behind the Shere Khan restaurant (off Walmer Street), on Thurloe Street and Hathersage Road.
