Following on from their successful presentation of Samay in 2009 Derby LIVE are pleased to welcome Surtal Asian Arts with their production of 'No Time for Cha!'.
RJ is fed up of sitting through cheesy Bollywood dramas and the frying and force feeding of samosas by his Grandma-Dadi-ji…and to top it off she insists on calling him Rajeev (and not his preferred RJ).
Join Grandma for a surprisingly different afternoon at her house and take a peek into new relationships, and old secrets…and find out if she manages to encourage RJ to step out of his teenage world to sit down for a cup of traditional chaa!
No Time for Chaa is an exciting drama production, written by, and featuring, local actors who bring their mixed cultural and generational experiences alive on stage with a unique spin on bilingualism, emotions and humour!
