Dear Massi, I am 24 and my family and now thinking its about time I find a partner.

I went Pakistan with my mum to look around for a potential partner I but didn’t like any of them.

I came back to England and mum dad then said have you made a decision, I said sorry but I don’t want to marry anyone from back home.

My cousin from England has ask for my rishta. My mum dad were little worried about the family but I told them I don’t mind marrying him.

I started to get to know him by txting, ringing him and linking up without anyone knowing.

However all of a sudden he stopped chatting to me and is saying its best we don’t txt anymore as I don’t want to lead you to something that wont happen.

This really has upset me and I’m confused as he told me he liked me a lot.

I feel silly writing this…I’m just so upset at the moment I really thought I found the perfect guy.

Massi says, Although it may seem as though your parents have just cause for concern in relation to this guy, there may also be a legitimate reason for him stopping contact with you.

He appears to have realised that perhaps this ‘relationship’ you had was not going to go anywhere and rather than string you along he has tried to let you down easily.

He could have continued to give you false hope that something more would come of your texting and talking but he has ended things before they got any more serious.

It may not be ideal as it sounds like you were really getting into him but just be thankful that he ended things here.

He was not the perfect guy for you. As you said you are only 24 and your parents are in no great hurry for your marriage to take place so enjoy your ‘singledom’ and I am sure that the perfect person for you will come when the time is right.

Try not to think about what could have been, instead focus on what could be. Good luck in your search!
