Genetically-modified piranha are unleashed in the rivers of Venezuela where they begin their rampage by attacking a US diplomatic ship.
Special Agent Jason Fitch (John Logan) investigates alongside scientist Sarah Monroe, who realises that the fish are growing exponentially and pose a serious global threat.
Venezuelan army colonel Diaz (David Labiosa) refuses to believe her and resolves to stop Fitch and Monroe’s efforts to besmirch his country’s good name.
