Dear Massi, My friend got caught with a fella and now she's blaming me for everything.

I never knew this but she lives four doors away from me and she was going out with a guy for a couple of months. But her uncle caught her with him in the Trafford Centre.

As soon as this happened she said I was the one going out with the guy and she was just with him because they were waiting for me. And her parents believed her and told the whole street the same story. I've gone to her and told her how angry I am but she says she never said anything. Who else could have said it?

On top of that my parents aren't talking to me now. I haven't even been with a guy in my life! I have told them the truth but my parents would rather believe her because she's so nicey nicey to everyone's face.

Worst of all she is still with her boyfriend and still phones me and expects me to be her friend!

And she wants me to cover for her when she goes out.

I now have my brother on my back and he keeps following me and checking my phone. I feel so depressed about everything.

I wish I could leave the country and go away.

IK Massi Says, Well, I wouldn't call her much of a friend. She is more interested in saving her own backside than telling everyone the truth.

If your own parents would choose to believe her then there is little you can really do.

I get lots of letters like this and I always say the truth always comes out sooner or later. So you can't really do much unless you want to stoop to her level.

I am sure you have already tried explaining to your parents but I would at least get someone in your family on your side. And try to clear your name.

I think the best person would be your own brother. He should, after following you and checking your phone, realise that you have done nothing wrong.

If all else fails maybe explain to your friend to have the common decency to at least tell your parents the truth.
