A new survey has revealed that Muslims tend to share more pointless graphics on social media during Ramadan than any other time of the year.

The survey of over 6870 Muslim social media users found that many are keen to share Ramadan related graphics to show ‘they are in the religious mood’.

The busiest time of the day for sharing views, they are unlikely to hold for the other eleven months of the year, were two hours before and after iftari (sunset).

Sixty-two per cent of users felt more obliged to support a social cause during Ramadan and share charitable texts.

Another 42 % said they liked to change their profile pictures to ‘something religious’ during Ramadan.

A whopping 81% admitted that they simply forwarded on pictures and texts without actually checking the content and hoped no-one else had done the same.
