Leading media organisations have been accused of bias after a positive story about Muslims was published online.
The story which claims that ‘a Muslim is a decent person once you get to know him’ was seen on a leading news website recently.
The story goes on to say, ’Muslims aren’t that bad really and I have one as a friend who comes round mostly at Christmas'.
‘If we actually decided to talk to a Muslim you might find they are just like the rest of us.’ This story has now been removed after complaints that it might be seen as ‘portraying Muslims incorrectly’ and ‘to a determinant to a specific news agenda which essentially aims to keep the country safe from radicals'.
The story was also, ‘not likely to pander to enough racist and stereotypical views so wasn’t really of any use'.
The writer of the story has also been removed from her post and told she must apply for work in the restaurant industry, preferably somewhere in the back.
