Dear Massi, I have a very controlling family.
They won’t let me go out or do anything, they always have some problem with me, they think my life revolves around my home nothing but home.
I have my friends who always ask me to go out with them but I can’t my family are too controlling. they even took my phone because they heard some stuff about me.
I tired talking to them but they won’t listen. I feel like rubbish what can I do?.
Massi Says, Don’t despair. It is not fair that your family are doing these things based on rumours they may have heard.
I know you have said that you’ve already spoken to them but you cannot give up.
I would suggest you bring a trusted member of the family on board and explain to them your frustrations and ask them to act as a middle person between you and your parents.
Don’t get angry but form your arguments logically. Explain to your family that the rumours are only rumours and have no basis and that you can be trusted.
Ask them why they have acted in such a manner and say to them that you would like to clear the air and be in their good books again and what can you do that would make them trust you You should most definitely tell them that the rumours are not true.
Hopefully things will work out as parents do want the best for their children. Stick with it and don’t give up. The best of luck
