He wants to get married and be with me too

Dear Massi, My life has turned upside down. The guy I wanted to marry is going abroad to get wed to someone else. I am so depressed and lonely.

My friends say I shouldn’t care but I can’t help it. Now, he says that he still wants to see me when he gets back but has to go through with the wedding because his mum is ill.

I have told him I am not happy with the situation but I don’t want to lose him or be alone. My sister thinks I am stupid and so do my friends. I am 24 and he is 26 and we have been together for four years.

Massi Says,You need to listen to your sister and your friends! This guy is disrespecting the relationship you have shared for four years by asking you to carry on an affair behind some poor girl’s back. He does not have to get married to this girl but is choosing to.

There may well be pressure on him to marry abroad but ultimately the decision is his.; Why can’t he marry you; that this the question I would put to him.

If he cares for you then he will not go through with this charade and ruin some poor unknowing girl’s life. Are you going to be willing to be his ‘bit on the side’, his ‘dirty little secret’?

If you think long and hard about this he is being really insulting and disrespectful to you by even suggesting such a thing!

You are only 24 and have the rest of your life to meet a good guy who is not going to treat to in such a way and expect you to be his secret whilst he plays happy families for the sake of his mother. End it now before it is too late and you get yourself into something that you will truly regret! I hope you come to the right decision for you. Good luck.
