Dear Massi, I work in a takeaway and I think am in love with a customer.
She comes to get her food regularly for her family and is very polite. But I don’t want to say anything to her in case she is offended.
Also I am not from here and she might not like my accent.
I have spoken to a few work colleagues and they laugh at me and say I am in love with a woman who I don’t even know.
I think about her all the time and it is the only reason I go to work.
I have found out she is not married. The longest we have spoken is about two minutes.
What can I do? I can’t stop thinking about her?
Massi says, This appears to be a crush rather than anything deeper.
It is easy to heighten ones feelings about somebody and create an ideal persona for them when we know very little about them.
You cannot be in love with a woman with whom you have only exchanged dialogue relating to a food order.
Has this woman given you a clear signal that she wants to talk to you about a romantic interest?
An unrequited response from this woman could lead to an awkward scenario for you and for her .
If you truly do want to find out if she feels the same way then you must at least try to talk to her. This may not be easy but it is the only way to put your feelings at ease.
