Exercise is key for a healthy lifestyle and weight loss BUT going to the gym doesn’t have to be the ONLY way to workout.

Life gets in the way sometimes and it’s hard to manage gym time with everything else happening around you.

Working out at home and adding a bit of activity into your day can speed up the weight loss process and help keep you fit and healthy.

Home workouts are JUST AS GOOD as gym workouts; they are convenient, flexible and less expensive than a gym.

The gym is an excellent source of motivation, but it's also easy to leave that mind-set in the changing rooms.

By exercising in your living space, you'll turn it into a home motivation. Having a few bits gym equipment at home will help you get the most out of your workouts.

Here is my quick guide to the best at-home gym equipment that will transform your workouts.

  1. Dumbbells

Dumbbells allow a lot of variety in your workouts. You can purchase dumbbells in different weights and change the intensity of your workouts through different numbers of sets and repetitions. Dumbbells are good for muscle building, cardio health, weight loss muscular enduarance and bone health.

  1. Kettlebells

Kettlebells allow for a full body and balanced workout. They don’t take up much room and come in different weights.

Kettlebells differ a little from dumbbells, they are designed for higher and faster repetitions…they really get your heart pumping!

  1. Swiss ball

Swiss balls, also known as stability and fitness balls are an effective means of building muscles and endurance, strengthening your core, and developing flexibility and balance.

They come in different sizes; you will need to use your height to determine which sized ball you will need.

  1. Resistance bands

You can work every single part of your body with a good set of resistance bands.

They allow you to perform strength training exercises without weights. They are good for toning and strengthening muscles.

  1. Foam rollers

Foam rollers are exercise devices used for massage and fitness, they help reduce muscle soreness and pain after a workout.

I’d be lying if I say that it didn’t hurt BUT long term, you will have happier muscles! Foam rolling is part of my weekly exercise routine.
