The problem with big companies is that they have no real idea about how and what to sell and the price to sell it at.

You can have whole departments whose job it is to research the market and maybe come up with the best possible product.

Take for example Burger King. I walked into the local store the other day. Now, I DO NOT want halal food but what I do want is a vegetarian meal that doesn’t cost me six quid.

The veggie bean burger on its own is £4.19 and add twenty fries (yes, twenty – I counted) and a drink and I was forking out £5.99.

I got some onion rings on top of that for the boy and I had just paid £7.99. Yes, nearly eight quid for a meal for a piece of the Burger King dream.

I am not the only one getting bent over and spanked by the corporate giant. A simple bacon double meal will set you back £5.99.

Take a stroll to McDonalds and a fillet-o-fish is £2.79 and £4.49 for a meal. The fillet is the size of kids meal and one must buy two.

The point is, it is simple maths. Drive past Burger King and the place is empty and I would say the same for the couple of restaurants in the town centre that have opened in the past.

Remember Ed’s Easy Diner? I loved that place but the problem is they missed a simple trick. All they had to do was put some halal stuff on the menu and the place would have been a lot busier.

Keep the non- halal items. Who honestly cares?

Despite the semantics here, we all know it makes common sense and at the same time it increases the profits of large faceless organisations who want to make a profit out of the masses.

The idea that this may have not come to the attention or be considered by these organisations is beyond me. I think a lot of it has to do with perception. The fact is you have a population who would be happy to pay for Burger King and McDonalds and you still ignore this market- then you are either stupid or inept.

And the same goes for the likes of Pizza Hut.

Look, I see the problem of writing about fast food prices some time after points were made about our takeaway problem. But I am just saying it is time we stop pretending to ignore a whole population because of the ogre that is ‘Islamification.’
