It is a strange state of affairs to say the least - Bollywood stars attending a function which backs Donald Trump for president.
The event is organised by the Republican Hindu Coalition, founded by Indian American businessman Shalabh ‘Shalli’ Kumar will take place later this month where Donald Trump himself will be guest of honour.
Also on the bill are Shahid Kapoor, Prabhu Deva, and Malaika Arora Khan. Indians are the second-largest immigrant group in the US and the country’s wealthiest ethnic group.
The event didn’t go down well with many Indians themselves who found it a little embarrassing.
Republican Hindu coalition: bunch of hindutva bigoted low lives. Bollywood needs to grow a moral spine. https://t.co/2cgi0VAVzR

At least educated white people in America are realizing what Trump is unlike educated Hindus of India in 2014. pic.twitter.com/w7T79KEg6Y
