Asian weddings and cars. They go hand in hand and this summer has been no different.

This week has seen luxury cars manifested in a whole new elite genre.

The Frankfurt Motor Show kicked off in the expected sumptuous style with the unveiling of the new electric Porsche that boasts 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds.

For the car aficionados, you may want to know that with 600 horsepower and a top speed of 155 mph plus, all while charging to 80% within 15 minutes, this is a vehicle to be reckoned with.

Highlights included the Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini’s Huracan Spider, Vauxhall Astra, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Renault Megane as well as the Jaguar F-Pace, which arrived in uber dramatic style by performing a world record loop-the-loop.

As is au fait with a show of this nature, the concept cars were on display in full glory, including the Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo.

This car has been designed for the “Gran Turismo” video-game franchise.

With an open top beach buggy and a car that operates by eye tracking and holograms, the Frankfurt Motor Show reiterates that the luxury car market is certainly catering to demand.

Sunny Phillips from Wedding Car Hire told us why the Rolls Royce Phantom amongst others makes a regular appearance at Asian weddings in the region.

“Luxury cars are the must have acquisition at Asian weddings.

“There is a particular penchant for it in Blackburn. Particularly for the Rolls Royce Phantom and the Baby Bentley limo.

“If one family has the Bentley, the next family will want a newer version.

“It’s all about a bigger and bolder display than the last wedding.

“It’s a competition which is all about image, even if it means a deficit inducing wedding!

“The luxury car has become one of the most important features at the wedding.

“It’s like having the accolade for the best flowerbed in the neighbourhood!”
