Kia set to launch flagship saloon

Kia is to launch an all-new flagship saloon, which is expected to establish new standards for design flair. Codenamed KH, the model is Kia’s first rear-wheel drive sedan. KH is among the company’s most eagerly anticipated new models and will be launched in Kia’s domestic market in the first half of 2012. There are no plans to launch the vehicle in mainland Europe and the car will not be coming to the UK.

Older drivers top one million!

The number of drivers over 80 has topped one million, according to information obtained by the Institute of Advanced Motorists following a freedom of information request to the DVLA. There are 122 licence holders over 100. IAM chief executive Simon Best said: “Those who wish to continue driving beyond the age of 70 should only be prevented from doing so if there are compelling reasons. Rather than seeking to prevent older people from driving, we should make them more aware of the risks they face, and offer them driving assessments to help them eliminate bad habits. Driving helps older people play a full and active part in society.”

They will cost from £93,795 for the coupe and £98,995 for the convertible with deliveries starting in September. BMW say the new models offer a particularly high level of standard equipment

Subaru BRZ is unveiled

Subaru will unveil the hotly-anticipated Subaru BRZ and Impreza five-door at the Geneva Motor Show in March, marking the European debut for both models. The 200PS Subaru BRZ – developed as a joint-project between Subaru and Toyota – is a sports car designed to offer maximum driver engagement. The fourth-generation all-new Impreza, which will also be on display at the Swiss expo, has been designed to offer high levels of refinement and value. The C-segment model will provide superior reliability, handling and safety features, with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system and horizontally-opposed Boxer engine at its core.
