Asiana aims to bring good fortune to parliament

Oriental food and drink specialist Asiana Ltd is aiming to bring some much needed good fortune to UK MP’s.

The senior management team of the Nottingham-based company has spent the day handing out [their own-brand, Beijing Gold] Fortune Cookies at the Houses of Parliament, in a bid to help people forget about the doom and gloom that has surrounded Westminster over the past few months.

The cookies are usually broken open at the end of Chinese meals to reveal a hidden message, with the inscription traditionally thought to bring good luck to the person holding it.

“It’s fair to say there’s been a bit of a dark cloud over the Houses of Parliament recently,” said Sandy Lathia, UK manager for Asiana. “As fortune cookies are considered to be a symbol of luck, we thought we’d bring some along to try and lighten the mood.

“We’ve had a really positive reaction, so let’s hope the cookies do the trick and turn things around for MP’s, the Government and the economy. If nothing else, at least we’ve managed to make a few MP’s smile!”
