ETHEL HAYES nee Cooper (Sister Eth) Passed away peacefully on Saturday, 23 May, 2015, aged 85 years. Much loved wife of the late Frank, mother to Lynne and grandmother to Stuart. At rest in the Grimshaw Park Funeral Home. Funeral service at Pleasington Crematorium on Wednesday, 3 June at 12.15pm. Family flowers only please but donations can be made for the British Heart Foundation c/o Waring McKenna Funerals, 45 Grimshaw Park, Blackburn, BB2 3AG. Tel 01254 51577.

It's sad to learn about grandma eths passing but she will be with my mum up there partying as the loved to work together and chat together and spent many an hour sat chatting whilst I sat cleaning all the brass rip grandma eth xxxxx

I met Ethel Hayes when she was a senior sister at Blackburn Royal Infirmary in 1976, she taught me a lot. She was an excellent role model and mentor for nurses and doctors. She had worked in most roles within the hospital including accident and emergency.She was kind,had a good sense of humour and could relate to all age groups.
I was proud to know her.
